Tuesdays with Morrie

Tuesdays with Morrie is a book about a journalist who after college dedicated himself to work, work, work. He didn't really have any friends and his relationships didn’t last long and when did he ignore his spouse. When watching T.V. one day he saw his favorite professor from college talking on nightline about what dying of the disease ALS was like. After this he went to see him and over time Morrie or “coach” as he called him taught him on his finally days of life on how to really live and to love. It toke sometime but right before he died he finally learned the lesson on how to live happily.

I thought this was a great book. It showed me a new way to look at life and our culture with its flaws. I believe this book can inspire people to do better and be better people. It talks about everything life and death, love and hate, and family and friends. I think it’s a book everyone must read and especially students because they need to know right from the start that work and money isn’t everything.

This kind of book is very personal to me. For most of my teens years I’ve have been obsessed with the idea of peace and happiness and how to obtain it. I have watched many documentaries, books, and movies on this subject. Now and forever I will hold this subject dear to me.

What I hold most dear

The value that I hold most dear is my family. This was neither taught or determined by myself. It is almost instinctual for me. I just know that I would do anything for them no matter what. I will put up with their crap just like they would put up with mine from birth to the day I die. Doesn’t matter what I believe in they will always come first in my eyes. I think this is true for most people even if they don’t know it. It’s in all of us to take care of our family.
I’m not sure how I’m going to carry on this value throughout my life because many times I forget that it is the most important to me. But when they need me I’ll be there that is all I know. If they get sick, when they have kids, or when they get married and I’ll see them for the holiday’s every year like always. Family will always be the most important always.

The Whale Rider

The Whale Rider is a descent movie but im not an a big fan of it. I think that she doesn't represent a true leader. A leader has a strong voice and is wise. She doesn't have a strong voice and there is no example of her smarts. To me she just doesn't show that she is a true leader. Knowing chants doesn't make you a great leader.
This movie is more about womens right to be leaders then about saving the tribe. She doesn't give one example of how she would help save the tribe. She's just a normal girl that wants to be leader and has dreams about it. If she wasn't on the whale at the end she would'nt have shown any real reason for her to be the leader.

Call of Duty Black Ops

I'm not a big fan of Call of Duty Black Ops.There are many things about it that improved on the Call of Duty series for example the choice of different color aimers and adding in your own symbol that could also be adding to your gun. The overall gameplay suffered from the increase power of the shotgun with improved range. This made the shotgun too powerful and taken the fun out for thoughs that perfered to use the machine guns and snipers. The shotgun range was almost as good as a machine gun but with twice the power.

The sniper by itself had its own problems. The gun takes to long to shot more then one shot at a time and the aim wasn't any match for the previous Call of Duty games. As a sni[er lover this hurt my love for game. I could no longer sit in one spot to shot and can't aim fast enough to move around without being killed most of the time. I hope that Call of Duty Balck Ops 2 doesn't make the same mistake.

The horse Dealer's daughter professor point of view

In the horse dealer's daughter I found that that some parts of the book resemble Romeo and Juliet by Shakespear. An example of the contrast between the two books is the moment right after Dr. Fergussion saved Mabel and I quote "You love me, she murmured, in strange transpot, yearning and  triumphant and confident." He answered yes and they instantly fell in love just as Romeo and Juliet did when they layed eyes on each other.
Another example of there similarity of these books is that suicide in one way or other we in the nooks. In the horse dealer's daughter mabel was so depressed after losing her fathers wealth she tried to commit suicide by drowning. In Romeo and Juiet after Romeo thinks that Juiet killed herself Romeo commits suicide. These examples support the statement in the professor that when in doubt its Shakespear.

Is it appropriate to share my opinion with others?

I do think it's important for me to express myself in many different circumstances. For example I think its important for people to hear my opinions on isssues like politics, lifestyle, or religion. Not because that I am right or wrong just so other people can further there knowlegde and get wisedom from a different point of view. Which is why everyones opinions on these matter. I also think my opinion can be important in a soical setting for example if Im on date talking about myself and my opinions on life so the girl can get a better understanding of me and will now know if she likes me or not.

There are some times that I think people don't need my opinion like when you start talking to someone off the street for no reason just because you're bored. Another good example of this the religous people that stand on the corners of the street and say the world is going to end. I think then other would not want to hear my opinions in a setting like that. So it really matter the setting and situation that I'm telling my opinions.
